무엇인가
레제네론 ISEF는 전 세계 고등학생이 자기 손으로 한 과학·공학 연구를 들고 나와 겨루는 대회다. 미국 비영리 단체 Society for Science가 운영한다. 학생은 정해진 연구 분야(category)에서 프로젝트를 발표하고 심사위원 앞에서 평가받는다. 본선은 아무나 등록하는 자리가 아니다. ISEF와 제휴(affiliated)한 지역·국가 페어에서 상위에 들어 출전권을 따낸 학생만 무대에 선다.
한국 학생 참가

입시에서의 의미
ISEF는 고등학생 과학 연구에서 이름이 통하는 대회다. 본선에 올라갔다는 건 제휴 페어를 뚫고 선발됐다는 뜻이다. 연구를 끝까지 끌고 가는 힘과 과학적으로 생각하는 방식을 보여주는 자리이긴 하다. 그래도 여기 나가거나 상을 받는다고 특정 대학 합격이나 평가 결과를 약속해주진 않는다.

What it is
Regeneron ISEF is where high school students from around the world bring research they did themselves and compete. It's run by Society for Science, a U.S. nonprofit. Students present their project in one of the set research categories and get questioned by judges. The final isn't open registration.
