무엇인가
AMC 10/12는 미국수학협회(MAA)가 주관하는 객관식 수학경시대회다. 25문항을 75분 안에 푼다. AMC 10은 10학년 이하, AMC 12는 12학년 이하 학생이 본다. 미국 수학경시 단계의 첫 관문이고, 점수가 일정 기준을 넘으면 다음 단계인 AIME(미국수학초청대회)에 초청받는다.
한국 학생 참가
한국 학생도 본다. 보통 국내 지정 시험장에 등록하거나, 다니는 학교가 시험 실시 기관으로 등록돼 있으면 학교에서 단체로 응시한다. 국제학교나 외국인학교는 자체 시험장을 운영하는 곳이 많다. 그 외 학생은 MAA 공인 시험을 운영하는 국내 교육기관이나 학원에 등록해서 본다. 시험은 영어로 나온다. 수학 용어를 영어로 읽을 수 있어야 한다. 응시 시기와 등록 마감은 해마다 바뀌니 공식 일정을 직접 확인해라.

The AMC 10/12 is a multiple-choice math contest run by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). You get 25 questions and 75 minutes.
